GERARD PIQUE has admitted Barcelona must be patient in their pursuit of Cesc Fabregas.
Arsenal do not want to lose the 24-year-old skipper and refuse to accept any offer below £40million for him.
Fabregas is desperate to return to his boyhood club.
But Barca defender Pique, 24, insisted: "All signings have their due process.
"Some are easy, some are more complicated. He is an important player for Arsenal so it is sensible they are trying to keep him.
"There has been a lot of talk about this, which is normal."
"It is best to let the negotiations take their due course and see what happens."
Barcelona beat Bayern Munich 2-0 on Wednesday and flew straight from Germany to Washington ahead of their clash with Manchester United tomorrow night.
The sides only met in May in the Champions League final - a game Barca won 3-1.
Xavi said: "We were better. A lot better.
"We dominated and kept the ball, which is part of our philosophy at Barcelona."
