Arsenal Sign Chelsea Midfielder Yossi Benayoun

Arsenal have completed the signing of Israeli international Yossi Benayoun with the Chelsea man confirming the move as a done deal via his Twitter account.

The former Liverpool and West Ham man is thought to have had talks with his former Anfield side, Tottenham and French side Lille but now finds himself at the Emirates Stadium. Arsene Wenger was looking to bring in an experienced midfielder and the adaptable 30 year old will provide options for the Gunners boss who has of course lost both Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas during the transfer window.

Benayoun has struggled since his move to Chelsea last summer, missing most of the last campaign with injury and then finding his first team chances limited by the arrival of Juan Mata from Valencia.

Yossi Benayoun became a cult hero at Anfield during his three seasons on Merseyside but left the club for West London in June last year. He netted 29 times from 81 starts at Liverpool and is believed to have joined Arsenal on a season long loan deal.
